DnD Stories - Overcoming Adversity Stories

Hey, what's up heroes? So, when you put out a new video every week, you never know where your next topic's coming from. This week's topic is actually from a Dungeons & Dragons session. So, I'm gonna give you three tips on how to overcome impossible odds inspired by a session where my group had to infiltrate a goblin kingdom, assassinate the king, and rescue a prisoner. So, if you'll stick around to the end, I'll tell you a little bit more about that story and give you a special bonus tip that's gonna put it all together for you.

All right, so how do you overcome impossible odds? The first thing is you have to be prepared. You can't wait for the moment to arrive, you have to do everything in your power, everything you have control over, to get ready for that moment. The next thing is to be patient 'cause no matter how bad you want that moment to come, sometimes it is out of your control. So all you can do is be prepared, be patient, and wait for the moment to arrive. Keep your eyes out for that opportunity. And then the third thing to do is to attack. When that opportunity comes, you gotta jump on it. You can't be indecisive, you can't wait. You've gotta be ready to take action.

All right. So, back to that goblin story. My group had got some potions that would turn us in to goblins for three hours, so we were on the clock and it was looking like we were gonna fail. We had 30 minutes left. Even our Dungeon Master, he saw no way we're gonna get through this. And then that moment arrived. I'd been hidden for the better part of an hour, my character had been, and a door opened to the throne room. I rushed in, I was able to assassinate the king, I cast a spell to disguise myself as the king, and then walked out and ordered that we take the prisoners out of the kingdom, out into the woods to murder them, basically, 'cause they were causing problems.

Of course, the prisoners were the ones who were trying to escape. The people taking them out were actually all the goblins in my group. And so, out of nowhere, we're totally desperate and then that moment came, we took the opportunity, and we were able to succeed, even though when we started, we saw no possible way it could work out. So, sometimes you just have to wait and you have to watch and you have to find that time when you can act and make everything you're trying to do work. All right, so that's my tip for the week and my little D&D story. If you liked this video, hit the like button below, share it with your friends, and don't forget to subscribe. The Pareto Principle - How to Improve Productivity

Do you ever feel like you're just always busy, and you just don't have enough time to get everything done? Well this week I'm gonna give you three tips to help you be more productive, and make sure you stick around the end for a special bonus tip.

Hi, my name is Roman Ryder, and on this channel I help you unlock your powers and be the hero of your story. If you're new to my channel, make sure you click below and subscribe. I put out new videos every week, and you don't wanna miss out.

Tip number one is to identify the task. So the way I like to do this is to get a pad of sticky notes, and I just write down everything I can think of. So I think about what I do daily, what I do weekly, and what I do monthly, and I just write it all down, take a good 5 or 10 minutes to just write everything you can possibly think of.

Tip number two is to prioritize the task. So the way I like to do this is to take a piece of paper, or a whiteboard, or whatever you have available, and split it up into four quadrants. And as you go up higher it's gonna be a higher impact, and as you go across it's gonna be a higher ease, and you're gonna take all those sticky notes and you're gonna put them in those four quadrants on that chart. And then you're gonna identify the things that are really highly impactful that you can do.

So, if you've ever heard of the Pareto principle, well, this kind of goes with that, or the 80/20 rule. So basically, what that says is that 20% of the things you're doing are gonna have 80% of your productivity. So as you start to put these things in your chart, you'll see those things up top, with the high impact, are gonna be more of the things that fall in that 20% that are getting you 80% of your results. So that's where you'll wanna focus your time and effort.

Tip number three is to apply the four Ds. All right, so the four Ds are: to do it, to delegate it, to defer it, or delete it. So those things that are in the first quadrant, the high impact, high ease, go ahead and just knock those things out. They're easy for you, they're gonna have a big impact; those are the things you wanna do, whether it'd be doing them daily, weekly, monthly, whatever it is, that's where you're gonna focus your time, that's where you're gonna get your 20% that are giving you 80% of the results.

All right, those things that are high impact, low ease, now you really have to think about those. Is it in your strength and passion to do those things? If not, you probably don't wanna waste your time, so go ahead and delegate those. And that means, whether we're finding somebody else to do it, or paying somebody else to do it, whatever you have to do, because your time is worth more than that, so don't waste your time there, get somebody else to do it.

Now, those other two quadrants, the ones that are low impact, that's where deferring and deleting come in. So just either put it off for later, or just totally get it out of your mind and get rid of it off your list. Don't do it anymore, it's a waste of your time.

This week's bonus is clarity, because when you really know what you want, it's easy to decide what you need to say yes to, and what you need to say no to.

And I have a simple question I use for that, and I just ask, "Is this moving me closer to my goal?" If that answer is no, then that's not something I need to be doing.

If you take a look in the description below, I've included a link to my Facebook group, called The Hero Mastermind. That's a great place for you to go connect with other like-minded people, that love geeky stuff and are also on their journey to become a hero.

Hack Freedom - The Matrix Red or Blue Pill

Put on your sunglasses, because this week we're plugging into the Matrix. I will be giving you five tips on how to hack your freedom and be the one. So buckle your seatbelt, Dorothy, because Kansas is going bye-bye.

I'm Roman Ryder, and on this channel, I help you unlock your powers and be the hero of your story. If you're new to my channel, make sure you subscribe. I put out new videos every week, and you don't want to miss out.

Tip number one is take the pill. One of the most famous scenes in the Matrix is where Morpheus offers Neo the choice of the blue pill or the red pill.

You take the red pill you stay in wonderland, and I show you how deep the rabbit goes.

And of course he chooses the red pill, and he goes further down the rabbit hole. Well, the red pill is really about freedom, and that's kind of the underlying theme of this whole movie. Is that you have freedom of choice, and your fate is not set. When you have opportunities presented to you make sure you choose freedom. Choose that opportunity, and go after it, because like Agent Smith says, there are billions of people in this world living completely oblivious, and they're oblivious to all the opportunities that surround them, and their opportunities to seize their freedom.

Tip number two is to load the software. Just like Neo needed to learn things in the Matrix, there are things you need to learn as well. Just like Neo, you can load the software. So you need to figure out where you're at, and where you want to be, and what you need to learn to get there. So whether it be to advance your career, or get the next promotion, or to start a business, or to take your business to the next level. Whatever it is the knowledge is out there, you just have to load the programs and learn it.

Tip number three is fight the agents. Morpheus tells Neo that everyone is part of the system, and they want to protect the system, and anyone can be an agent. Well, an agent is those people that are telling you that you can't do it. They're the ones telling you that you can't get that promotion you want, you can't start the business, you can't get out of your job. Whatever it is, you have to keep fighting those agents and not let them tell you that you can't do it.

Tip number four is to shape the world. The Matrix is a world that is pulled over your eyes to hide the truth. The truth is that you can make it anything you want it to be. So just like in the Matrix the rules can be bent or broken. Now one of my favorite quotes is from Steve Jobs, and it was a game changer for me. He said, "That once you realize that everything around you is made up by people that are no smarter than yourself, then you can change it." So go out and shape your world.

Tip number five is believe you're the one. You can't just think you're the one, you have to know you're the one. I can show you the door, but you have to walk through it. You have to be willing to hack your freedom. The Matrix doesn't define Neo, and this world doesn't define you. Whatever happened in your past doesn't define who you are today. Don't let it hold you back. Go out and get the things you want, hack your freedom, and be the one.

I'm going to include a link in the description below to my Facebook group called the Hero Mastermind. It's a great place for you to go and connect with other people that are on their journey to be the one.

A world where anything is possible.

Top 10 Live Instagram August 2017

Alright, so last month I went live every single day on Instagram. This week I'm gonna be bringing you my top 10 tips. Plus, stick around til the end for a special announcement.

On this channel, I talk about how to unlock your powers and be the hero of your story. If you're new to my channel, make sure you subscribe. I put out new videos every week, and you don't want to miss out.

Alright, so tip number one is Long Term Thinking. Don't give in to instant gratification and choose pleasure now, over the pleasure you'll achieve when you reach your long term goals.

Tip number two is to Make Every Minute Count. You want to live deliberately, and you want to choose to be completely in the moment and either focus on work, or focus on pleasure, or whatever it is you're doing at the time, but make every minute count.

Tip number three is 10x Goal Setting. This is something I learned from listening to Peter Diamandis. For instance, my Twitter goal for 90 days was 500 followers. I multiplied that times 10, so I had to really get creative and within two weeks I had over 500 followers. This is a great way to really step up your goals and make you think outside the box.

Tip number four is to Do Your Thing. Life is too short to worry about what other people think. You have to figure out how to be you and do your thing and make the most of your life.

Alright, so tip number five is to Attack Your Problems. One day I was listening to Dean Graziosi talk about leaning into your problems, and it reminded me of when I was kayaking the Grand Canyon. I learned to lean into the waves and attack the waves with my paddle. It kept me from getting flipped by the waves. It's kind of the same thing when you have problems in life. You don't want to lean away from your problems. You don't want to escape into a book, or movies, or games, or whatever it is you like to do for fun. You have to stay in reality, and you have to attack those problems and take care of them.

Tip number six is Return On Time. If you've ever heard of the Pareto principle, it says that 20% of the things you're doing are accounting for 80% of your results. You need to figure out what that 20 % is and focus your time there so you get the most return on your time investment.

Tip number seven is the Power Of Decisions. The decisions you make and actions you take, shape your life. You need to learn to make good decisions to get the results you want.

Tip number eight is Dealing With Trolls. Whether you're online or offline, you're gonna come across people who are just gonna try and get a reaction out of you. You have to just ignore them, ban them, mute them, do whatever you got to do to get them out of your life. Don't feed the trolls. This is my Easter egg for this week. For my fantasy followers, comment below and tell me how you keep trolls from regenerating?

Tip number nine is the Power Of Focus. Focus on what you can control, and let the rest go. You can consider all the outcomes, but the thing is, you don't want to be emotional about things that haven't happened yet. Just focus on what you can control.

Tip number ten is to Be A Hero. Both at work and at home those people are depending on you to protect them and take care of them, so be the hero that they need.

Alright, so that was my top ten tips from going live on Instagram last month. This month I'm gonna be going live on Facebook every single day. Check out the link in the description below, and you can follow me there and see what's going on in my life and hopefully get some more awesome tips like the ones you learned today.

Branding and Marketing Strategies - How to Brand a Business

Over the years, I've started a number of businesses including online, brick and mortar, and everything from a sole proprietorship to corporations. So this week I'm gonna be talking to you about how to brand and market a new business. Also, make sure you stick around to the end for a bonus tip that you don't want to miss.

Hi. I'm Roman Ryder and on this channel, I talk about leadership and personal development. If you're new to my channel, make sure you subscribe. I put out new videos every Friday and you don't want to miss out.

All right, so the first step is to pick a name and that's not as easy as it sounds, so you've got a bunch of different things to consider. You want to have a short and simple name. You want to have a name that describes what you do, so when you tell people your business name, they shouldn't have to guess what it is that you do. You also want to make sure it's available everywhere that you want to use it. That used to be pretty difficult. You have to go and you have to figure out is the domain name available? So your website. Is the different social medias you want to be on available? Also, you need to go to your Secretary of State's website if you're gonna start a business and look and see if that name's available in your state. So quite a few things to do. Along the lines of the name, you want to make sure it's short. You want to minimize the number of syllables for a dot com.

Speaking of which, you want a dot com. You don't want a dot net, a dot org, a dot info, whatever it is because if you think about it, dot com is built into your keyboard on your phone. It's built into your web browsers. You can hit control enter, I believe, and it automatically puts the dot com on what you're typing in the search bar. So if you don't have the dot com, you're missing out on traffic. So make sure you keep it short and simple. Make sure it's descriptive about what you do and make sure you get the dot com.

All right and that sounds like a lot of work, so I'm actually gonna put a link in the description below. I'm gonna have a free download. I'm gonna have the links to a website that will let you search for not only your domain name but all the major social media sites all at once. So that'll really speed up your time of finding the name you want and I'll also include the link to all 50 states for the secretary of state's site. You can go to their site and what you're looking for is usually something along the lines of a business search, a business entity search. So you can go in there and search your name of your business for both all your online use and for use in your state.

All right, so the next step's to actually reserve your name, so you've got your name picked out now. You have to get it reserved in all the places that you want it, so the first place I like to go is to reserve my domain name. For that, I used Squarespace most recently. I used to own a web design business. I know how to do web design, but for me, the simple drag and drop methods of building web pages these days is just too easy and simple. I like Squarespace. They actually give you a free one-year registration for a domain name when you set up your web hosting, so I went through them and that was a great choice for me. See what else is out there, but that's what I like.

Okay. The next step is your social media sites, so you want to have your @ whatever your business name is on all the major ones. So the big three are Facebook and Twitter and Instagram. Make sure you definitely get your name there. The other ones to consider, depending on your target audience is Snapchat. The younger people definitely gravitate towards Snapchat. And LinkedIn if you're doing a more business to business type company, so also it doesn't hurt to have your name reserved in other places. I don't use Snapchat, but I have it reserved 'cause you never know. When Facebook first started out, it was all college students and now my uncles and aunts and people's grandparents, people of all ages are on Facebook. So you never know how the social media world's gonna change. So go ahead and reserve it and any other major players and go ahead and have that ready to go.

The next step is to look at your state and/or city, so as I mentioned, you might want to go to your Secretary of State and that applies if you're starting something like an LLC, Limited Liability Company, or a corporation. You'll want to go through your state. For those, if you've never done it before, I'd recommend talking to either a CPA and/or attorney. If you're just doing a sole proprietorship, all you have to do is go down to your city hall and they can walk you through how to do that. It's pretty easy.

You can also convert that sole proprietorship over to an LLC or corporation later. I've actually done that with a business that I had that took off for me. Something I personally like that's now available in every state is a single member LLC. The reason I like that, it's very much like a sole proprietorship. So all your profits and losses are just basically added to your taxes just like a sole proprietorship. But you have an LLC. Looks better and sounds better and gives you a little extra protection more than just a sole proprietorship. So, that's something I personally like.

All right, so the next step is to get your logo. Personally, I've used BrandCrowd for my last couple logos. I really like it because you can go in and you can search and find different types of logo. My business is actually Fearless Strategy, LLC and I think I searched for "fearless" and a lion came up. I kind of like the idea of having a lion, so if you go to my website, you'll see my little lion logo that I bought on BrandCrowd. The different artists put their logos there and you can actually make them an offer. So you don't have to pay what they're asking unless you really, really want it. After they accept the offer, they'll go in and make any customization you want. In the download that I mentioned before that's gonna be in the description, I'm actually gonna include my logo guy, the guy I use. I love him. He is awesome and he's made all kinds of changes for me, never charged me extra, gave me every format I wanted. So I'm gonna include that in the download. He doesn't know this. I'm not getting any kickbacks or anything like that. I just think he's really good and I trust him, so I think he'll help you out if you're looking for a logo.

Also in that, I'm gonna include some stuff about colors and contrast. It's something I'm really interested in. I didn't realize how much I like marketing and advertising until I started messing around with it. I'm gonna include kinda the meanings of different colors, what they transmit as far as the meaning, emotion of your company. Then I'm also gonna include some contrast, like different colors that work well together. This is gonna actually help you out if you go on YouTube with your thumbnails or if you're gonna have a brick and mortar or even just your website. It'll help you have good colors that work together well and actually stand out and make your logo, your text easy to see and read. So make sure you check that out.

All right, so now it's time for today's bonus and that is an Employer Identification Number. If you're doing a sole proprietorship, you can just use your social security number. But if you're gonna do a Limited Liability Company or corporation, you're probably gonna want an Employer Identification Number. It's actually free. You can go onto the IRS's website and I think it's Monday through Friday from 7:00 AM 'til 10:00 PM is the only times you can do it. But it's free. You go in there and you request your Employer Identification Number. They give it to you. It's basically kinda like a social security number for a business and it allows you to do things like open your bank account. So it's something good to have and, like I mentioned, if you're gonna start a business like that, you may want to consider getting a CPA or an attorney. But no matter what you do, don't forget to look into that Employer Identification Number.

All right, so if you liked this video, like it below, share it with your friends and don't forget to subscribe. Thanks for watching and I'll see you in the next video.
